Emeryville City Council
The Emeryville Redevelopment Agency met Tuesday night. Some of the items discussed were the appropriation of over $700,000 for first time home buyers at Oliver Lofts, a resolution to allow installation of buildings and other facilties at Anna Yates Elementary School, the purchase of “Verdure,” the city council’s pick from the 2008 Emeryville Art Exhibit and construction of a new sidewalk on the west side of Shellmound Street.

Emeryville residents at a recent city council meeting
BY ALBA MORA // Some residents have raised their concerns about the impact of redevelopment on Emeryville over the last 25 years. An organized group of about 30 people asked the city council for special consideration in dealing with developers. They are asking for a community agreement that benefits the residents regarding issues like job quality or affordable housing.
